At today’s Xiaomi conference, the manufacturer officially launched two smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. The Mi 11 Pro is known as the Android king. So what positioning does the Ultra have?
The main differences between the two models are as follows:
Thus, we can claim that the main upgrades over the Pro model refer to the appearance (the secondary screen), camera, and audio.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra 8+256GB version costs 5999 yuan ($913), the 12+256GB version is 6499 yuan ($989), and the top variant 12+512GB is available at 6999 yuan ($1065).
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Appearance
The machine has black and white color variants. It uses a precision ceramic body. Due to the latter, the black is calm and atmospheric, while the white is elegant and gentle. It also offers a special edition with marble. This is the next phone with a high-end ceramic texture technology after the Xiaomi Mi 6. The weight of the whole machine is 234 grams, and the thickness is 8.38 mm.
The marble pattern special edition (12GB+256GB) uses laser engraving to create delicate textures. The laser absorption film is attached to the inner cavity of the back cover. And the back cover is carved with a high-power aurora texture. It has a depth of about 0.1 mm like a natural pattern without affecting the flatness and luster of the outer surface.
Secondary Screen
As expected, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has a small secondary screen, that is, a small window on the side of the rear lens. It can display a variety of information, but the main purpose is still selfies. As the company proves, this small window can display time, weather, notifications, health reminders, provide music control, etc.
It is stacked with multiple layers of silicon zirconium oxynitride coating to adjust the reflectance, transmittance, and chromaticity of the small window area. The surrounding camera modules present almost the same black color, ensuring an integrated visual sense without affecting the touch.
Using this secondary screen, the Mi 11 Ultra also supports the ‘wilderness survival mode’. It can turn off all the background and main apps viewing and only use the secondary screen display. As a result, 10% battery power can provide a standby time of 55 hours.
