OnePlus to reportedly launch Plug n Play Webcam for Smart TVs amid Work-From-Home

OnePlus Plug n Play Webcam

Back in 2019, OnePlus forayed into the smart TVs segment by bringing its premium offering into the market. Since then, the company has brought two more affordable options as well. It looks like the Chinese smartphone maker is now planning to bring a new accessory for its lineup of televisions. We’re looking at the OnePlus Plug n Play Webcam that will reportedly launch in India soon.

OnePlus might launch Plug n Play Webcam for its smart TVs soon!

This report come courtesy of MySmartPrice. According to the report, a Twitter user Yogesh (@heyitsyogesh) claims that OnePlus will soon launch a Plug n Play Webcam for its smart TVs. Apart from this, the report also talks about some of the key highlights of the upcoming accessory. The key addition here is a physical camera shutter that you can use whenever you’re not actively using a webcam. This is something that most webcams out there lack for some weird reason. Well, the Plug n Play Webcam is going to disappoint you in terms of privacy at least.

Gizchina News of the week

The webcam will feature a USB Type-C port for connectivity and will also have an integrated mic to capture audio. It looks like this new accessory will come bundled with future OnePlus televisions. For the existing ones, interested users can purchase it whenever it goes official. It is worth noting that the webcam, for some reason, is not compatible with the company’s 32-inch offering.

One thing that we still have no information about is the camera resolution. Sadly, the report doesn’t talk about the camera resolution of the webcam. Well, we’re expecting it to be at least par with the competition.

Might launch next month!

OnePlus is done with the production phase of the product and is now planning to bring it to the Indian market soon. It looks like the OnePlus Plug n Play Webcam for Smart TVs might end up going official next month. There’s no clue regarding the pricing information at the time of writing this.

Is it possible that OnePlus might be working on some new television and will launch the webcam accessory alongside? Well, there’s no concrete evidence of that and even if we agree, we would just be spitballing. If that is the case, we should expect to hear more details in the coming weeks.

We’re expecting the brand to just simply add the accessory to its portfolio with a social media announcement.
