Redmi Note 10 Pro is a great successor to last year’s Note 9 Pro. We saw improvements in the camera, design as well as display. The Redmi Note 10 Pro featured an S-AMOLED panel instead of an IPS panel. Also, the Note 10 Pro comes with a 108MP camera sensor compared to 64MP in last year’s model. However, there are a few things that are still needed to improve. Below are the top 7 improvements we’d like to see on the Redmi Note 11 Pro.
1. In-display fingerprint scanner
Even though the Redmi Note 10 Pro comes with an S-AMOLED panel, it lacks an in-display fingerprint scanner. On the other hand, its biggest competitor, Realme 8 Pro comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. I agree side-mounted fingerprint scanners are faster than in-display. However, the in-display fingerprint scanners are more modern and look futuristic. Apart from Xiaomi, every other company uses an in-display fingerprint scanner on their AMOLED smartphones. Hence, the addition of an in-display fingerprint scanner will make the Redmi Note 11 Pro not only modern but also premium.
2. Wireless charging support
This is the most ignored feature in the history of mid-range smartphones. Even after multiple generations of flagship smartphones using wireless charging, it never came to the mid-range segment. It always remained in the elite class smartphones. I believe, wireless charging makes life easier. Xiaomi should step up and introduce wireless charging support with the Redmi Note 11 Pro. Even if it is limited to slow charging, it will still be a great addition. Wireless charging technology has improved, the Mi 11 Ultra can wirelessly charge at 67W. It’s a disappointment that mid-range series do not get this feature.
3. Better chipset
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 732G processor. It is a 4G processor, and in 2021, a mid-range phone should be 5G compatible. Even though 5G is not available worldwide, it will make these devices future-proof. Moreover, I also find the Snapdragon 732G lacking in terms of gaming. In day-to-day tasks, it performs fine. But it cannot handle high graphics games with a higher frame rate. The Redmi Note 11 Pro should either use a higher-end 5G Snapdragon 700-series or a Dimensity processor.
4. Better video stabilization / OIS
Gizchina News of the week
The Samsung Galaxy A52 comes with OIS support. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 10 Pro only has EIS. And that too is not very impressive. The video stabilization of the Redmi Note 10 Pro is not up to the mark. You can expect high-quality footage thanks to a huge 108MP sensor but the stabilization is compromised. I hope the Redmi Note 11 Pro comes with OIS and has improved video stabilization, it will make the Redmi Note 11 Pro stand out more than its competitors.
5. Faster Charging
The Redmi Note 11 Pro should also feature faster-charging support. The Redmi Note 9 Pro supported 33W, and so do the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Even though it is fast, but not the best. I think Redmi can offer a faster wired charging support to stand out more in the competition. I understand, that we need time to see 100W fast charging speed on mid-rangers. But Realme introduced 65W fast charging on its Realme 7 Pro smartphone. Hence, it is possible to see up to 65W charging support in mid-range phones. A 50W or 65W fast wired charging will make the Redmi Note 11 Pro even special.
6. Notification light
It is a very small thing but it comes in handy. The LED notification light helps you a lot whenever you have notifications, the light would blink. Redmi included the LED notification light on the Redmi Note series however this year they ditched it. Well, the reason is obvious, the always-on-display is the substitute for an LED notification light. However, only the people who use LED notification light know how important it is hence it would be awesome to see it back on the Redmi Note 11 Pro.
7. Better Durability
Recently, I wrote about the durability test of the Redmi Note 10 Pro. The mid-range phone from Xiaomi failed miserably in durability. To make the Redmi Note 11 more durable, it should come with an aluminum frame. It will make it more sturdy in bend tests. Moreover, the Redmi Note 10 Pro with a plastic frame feels cheap. The POCO X3 NFC uses an aluminum frame and the Note 11 Pro should also use it.
These are the seven things that I would like to see on the Redmi Note 11 Pro. The Note 10 Pro is a great successor to the Note 9 Pro. It comes with a lot of improvements, however, there is always room for improvement. The competition in the mid-range market is increasing day by day. This time, the Galaxy A-series also offered promising specifications. Hence, if Redmi wants to stay in the competition, they should offer more than their competitors.
