The smaller one will receive a Dimensity 1200 SoC; but the version with a larger display diagonal will be based on the Snapdragon 870; and not on the Snapdragon 888 as previously predicted. According to rumors, Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 in its top variant will offer a 2K screen with a diagonal of 11 inches; and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and the touch response rate will be 480 Hz. There are speculations that the tablet will receive a side fingerprint scanner and stylus support; which will allow it to compete with the top solutions from Samsung, Apple and Huawei.
There is also information that the Mi Pad 5 with Snapdragon 870 will receive an 8000 mAh battery; and a specially adapted MIUI user interface in the manner of the one implemented in the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold. The firmware will offer a multi-window mode and a desktop interface mode; the later will includes the Start menu and taskbar from Windows.
Recently, One of the famous Weibo bloggers revealed that the alleged Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 had been connected to the Internet. The internal model is “K81C”. He also said that this tablet comes with a super-fast charging; alongside a super large screen with a high-refresh-rate, a super battery and a sm8250 processor. The code name “sm8250” represents Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip – the Snapdragon 870.
