According to multiple sources, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 is on its way. This device has a couple of certifications and its official launch is not far away.
As the release date for the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 gets closer, we get more information regarding this device. According to recent reports, there is also a sm8150ac version of the Mi Pad 5. The report also claims that this chip is a higher version of the new Snapdragon 860 SoC. The Snapdragon 860 itself is an improvement of the Snapdragon 855+. The Snapdragon 860 and the Snapdragon 855+ are exactly the same in terms of CPU, GPU, DSP, and other architectures. Both use the Kryo 485 core with the highest frequency of 2.96GHz, Adreno 640 GPU, and Hexagon 690 DSP.
However, Snapdragon 860 does not support 5G networks. However, it is an improvement to the SD855+ because it supports up to 16GB of RAM, dual 1080P 90Hz screens, and adds support for 90Hz high refresh rate.

Furthermore, the leak also reveals some information on the display of this upcoming tablet. According to the report, the engineering model uses an 11-inch 2560 x 1600 resolution LCD screen. This screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rates. The screen driver is a Novatek TDDI panel. It also comes with a pressure sensitivity level of 4096.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 previous speculations
From the speculations so far, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will have about three different models. These models will use different chips including Snapdragon 870, Snapdragon 860, and Snapdragon 888 SoC. While some will support 5G, others will stick with 4G network. However, all the models will not launch at the same time. Some of these tablets will launch later this year.
In addition to the core performance, the Mi Pad 5 will also be equipped with a tablet system similar to the Mi MIX FOLD folding screen. This means that Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will have functions such as a handheld PC mode, dual-screen drag and drop, parallel windows, and conference secretary.
