ASUS ROG Phone 5 now up for pre-orders in India

ROG Phone 5

Now it’s pretty much an established tradition seeing many companies launching their gaming phone contenders during the first three months of every year. This started last year when iQOO, Black Shark, and Nubia decided to bring their gaming phones on that period. This year, the Q1 window got a new addition in the form of the ROG Phone 5. ASUS launched its ROG Phone 3 in the second half of 2020 but decided to bring a sequel much earlier than usual. The reason is simple, the company does not want to lose the number of users that will choose the competition during these first three months. The ASUS ROG Phone 5, as usual, honors the lineup as one of the most appealing gaming smartphones out there. Today, the device is giving an important step to start its journey in India.

India’s arrival marks the beginning of the ASUS ROG Phone 5 global campaign

The Taiwanese smartphone maker introduced the ROG Phone 5 with three devices – a regular variant, a Pro variant, and an Ultimate variant. These devices are yet to reach the markets, and India has been chosen as one of the first markets where the devices will be available. The popular giant of e-commerce – Flipkart – has now listed all variants. The most affordable, standard variant of the ROG Phone 5, is even up for pre-orders. However, there is still no info on the actual launch date. So, in the end, users may need to wait a little longer to get their hands on the new gaming phone.

The Indian market is one of the first markets getting the gaming phone family, but we expect more countries and regions to follow pretty soon. The ROG Phone 5 in black colorway is being offered for INR 49,999 in Flipkart, this is roughly converted to $666 or €555. That is the variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. This is cheaper than the initially announced price of €800. The company will also offer the gaming phone in a variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage. That one will cost INR 59,999 or $775/€645.

However, if you’re in the market for the top-notch and most advanced ROG Phone 5 Ultimate, it will set you back by INR79,999 or $1,065/€890.
