After many leaks and rumors pointing to the arrival of a new Realme 8 variant with 5G connectivity, it’s confirmed! The new smartphone dubbed Realme 8 5G will go official in Thailand on April 21. The device will have two colorways – Supersonic Black and Supersonic Blue, the company is confident that it will make success with appealing specs and support for the fifth-gen networks. For that reason, it is revealing a couple of specifications coming with the new smartphone.
The Realme 8 5G flaunts a 6.5-inch punch-hole display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Since one of the images confirms a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, we assume that the 5G variant just like its 4G sibling will have an LCD display. Hopefully, this is an FHD+ panel. Worth noting that the device will be 8.5mm thin and will weigh just 185 grams.
Although Realme hasn’t detailed the entire list of specifications, the handset appears to be a rebranded Realme V13 5G for global markets. If that’s true, we already know many of the device’s specs.

Based on the Realme V13 5G specifications, we know that the Realme 8 5G will pack an FHD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) display with a top-left punch hole comprising an 8MP shooter. Moving around to the back, the device has a Triple-Camera array with a 48MP main shooter with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF, a 2MP macro f/2.4 module, and finally a 2MP f/2.4 depth lens.
The handset boasts the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. This is a 7nm chipset bringing Cortex-A75 cores with 2.2 GHz clock speed. It delivers decent performance and 5G connectivity while it’s one of the best value-for-money offerings in this class. The V13 is quite generous in storage and RAM amount. The basic variant has 8GB of RAM And 128GB of Storage while the most advanced brings 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage. Of course, the Realme 8 5G can introduce a different variant.
The device draws power from a huge 5,000mAh battery that, thankfully, offers 18W fast-charging. The phone runs Android 11 straight out of the box which also means Realme UI 2.0 running on top.
The Realme V13 5G is sold at around 210 Euros in China. Of course, the 8 5G may come with a different price on global markets. We will know more details in the coming days.
