Oppo is one of the brands that is pushing forward 5G connectivity across the globe. After launching a bunch of 5G-ready smartphones in India last year, the brand is bringing new affordable options for customers in the globe. Nowadays, Oppo and other brands are pushing 5G-enabled smartphones to countries that are yet to implement 5G networks. That’s the case of India which is receiving a wave of 5G smartphones. The latest addition to the portfolio of Oppo smartphones in India will be the Oppo A53s. The new smartphone will go official in the country with Dimensity 700 on April 27.
Oppo is advertising the Oppo A53s as one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in the country. It comes with MediaTek’s most cost-effective 5G chipset, the Dimensity 700. This chip has two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz plus six power-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2GHz. Graphical tasks are ensured by a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clocked at 950MHz. The new handset is hitting India with a price tag of INR 15,000 ($200). The Chinese firm also shared a render of the smartphone confirming a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a Triple-camera setup.

The new smartphone might be a rebranded Oppo A55 5G that was revealed in China in January. If that is true, we can expect the new variant to bear the same specifications. That includes a 6.5-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution, unlike recent Oppo smartphones, this device has a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The panel also comes with a top-notch at the top with an 8MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture.
Moving around to the back, the smartphone has a Triple-Camera setup. It comprises a 13MP wide camera with PDAF, plus a 2MP f/2.4 macro unit and a 2MP depth module with f/2.4. Other features include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, aptX HD audio support, and a USB-C port. The phone draws power from a huge 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. On the software front, users can expect the Android 11-based ColorOS 11.1.
Worth noting that the Oppo A53s 5G will reach the market through Flipkart. The rest of the specifications are currently unknown, we’ll know most of its specifications in the next week. The device will reach the market next Tuesday at noon local time.
