Microsoft Teams faces yet another mass outage this month!

Initially released in 2017, Microsoft Teams recently got popular amid the pandemic as more and more companies and professionals relied heavily on virtual meetings. Like Zoom, Microsoft Teams has also managed to carve out a niche for itself with companies and schools using the service on regular basis. Well, Microsoft Teams has recently faced yet another mass outage with the service not accessible for users worldwide. It’s the company’s second outage this month.

Microsoft Teams experiencing a worldwide outage!

A couple of hours ago, Microsoft Teams became inaccessible for many users worldwide. According to the official information, it looks like users across Europe and Asia are facing issues while trying to access the service. It looks like the new issue is blocking the internet connectivity of the service. Microsoft Teams on a web browser is churning out a 401 error code while the app is not allowing users to send text messages in the channel. Surprisingly, it’s still showing all the channels along with other details.

Some other users have also reported few big errors popping up on the screen. Microsoft Teams is warning users that they ‘may experience degraded performance with multiple features’. The message further mentions that this issue is affecting users at random meaning anyone can face it. It’s worth noting that in this issue with big error messages, the users were able to log themselves in.

With that said, it’s quite random with different users experiencing different issues. Microsoft has officially accepted the ongoing issue on its official Microsoft 365 Status Twitter account. At the time of writing this, Microsoft has managed to find the root cause of this outage and is performing mitigation actions. In fact, it also reported that the service is witnessing signs of recovery. This means that users should now be able to access Teams. If not, then you should try restarting the client.

This is the second outage of this month!

As mentioned earlier, it’s not the first worldwide outage that Microsoft Teams have faced this month. Earlier this month, Microsoft Teams and Xbox Live were down for around 2 hours. The company claimed that it was a DNS issue that affected multiple Microsoft 365 and Azure services. After around 2 hours, all the affected services were restored successfully.
