Realme X7 Max, Realme TV launch in India postponed in light of COVID-19 second wave

Realme X7 Max

Since the last week, Realme started to tease a new smartphone for the Indian market with the “Max” branding. The device would hit the Realme X7 series as Realme X7 Max. The device looks new since there isn’t a Max variant in China or Europe. However, we suspect that it is, in fact, a rebadged Realme GT Neo with Dimensity 1200 SoC. Yesterday, we got a confirmation of the device’s launch for May 4. Alongside the new smartphone, the company would also announce a new Realme TV. Now, however, in light of the crescent number of COVID-19 cases in the country, the Chinese brand has decided to postpone the launch of these devices. Currently, the country is recording over 300,000 new cases on a daily basis.

Realme X7 Max and Realme TV alleged specifications

The Realme X7 Max just like its Chinese counterpart may come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage. The lights will be kept by a 4,500mAh battery complete with 50W fast-charging. The device also has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a primary camera with 64MP resolution. There is also a 32MP selfie snapper.

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth made the announcement on Twitter”. The post reads:

“After careful consideration, #realme has decided to postpone the upcoming smartphone and AIoT products’ launch along with the anniversary celebrations. In these difficult times, let’s focus on contributing as much as possible. Stay home, Stay Strong! We will be back soon,”.
