Apple today released its 2021 fiscal year second fiscal quarter performance report. The company posted a March quarter record revenue of $89.6 billion. It’s an increase of 54% YoY. The quarterly earnings per diluted share reached $1.40. International sales accounted for 67% of the quarterās revenue. It is worth mentioning that the iPhone contributed US$47.9 billion in revenue this quarter.
āThis quarter reflects both the enduring ways our products have helped our users meet this moment in their own lives, as well as the optimism consumers seem to feel about better days ahead for all of us,ā said Tim Cook, Appleās CEO. āApple is in a period of sweeping innovation across our product lineup, and weāre keeping focus on how we can help our teams and the communities where we work emerge from this pandemic into a better world. That certainly begins with products like the all-new iMac and iPad Pro, but it extends to efforts like the 8 gigawatts of new clean energy weāll help bring onto the grid and our $430 billion investment in the United States over the next 5 years.ā
iPhone 12 Series Sales Report
Each of Apple’s product lines achieved double-digit revenue growth. At the same time, iPhone revenue increased by 65.5% over the same period last year; the Mac and iPad grew by 70.1% and nearly 79%, respectively.
Gizchina News of the week
Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the iPhone 12 is the most popular model in the second quarter of 2021. Users also have a great demand for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Not surprisingly, he didnāt mention the iPhone 12 mini.
Compared to the other three models, the iPhone 12 mini is indeed bleak. Analysts generally believe that although Apple has been working hard to promote this 5.4-inch small-screen iPhone model, it only accounted for 5% of the total US iPhone 12 sales in January.
So most likely, the Cupertino-based company will stop production of the iPhone 12 mini. But it is not certain. We mean we have been hearing contradictory rumors and some of them prove the iPhone 13 mini will be launched despite the low sales of the iPhone 12 mini.
Anyway, since the end of last year, the basic iPhone 12 has been selling well. Although Apple did not announce the exact number, its sales do far exceed that of the mini.
