Huawei is actively developing the HarmonyOS for smartphones and a plethora of Huawei devices already have the developers beta of the HarmonyOS 2.0. According to a new report, Huawei has commenced the second round of developers beta testing. The company also added seven new devices to test the HarmonyOS 2.0. The new smartphones are Huawei nova 6, nova 6 5G, nova 7 5G, nova 7 Pro 5G, nova 8, nova 8 Pro, and Huawei MatePad 10.8 inches.
Users of the above models can apply for registration starting from 15:00 today. The registration for the developers beta will end at 11:59:59 on May 17th. The quota is limited, and the company will attend to users on a first-come-first-served basis. However, it will give priority to developers whose apps are on the Huawei App market. Developers who do not have any app in the HUAWEI application market can use the remote simulator in HUAWEI DevEco Studio.
HarmonyOS 2.0 beta recruitment
The HarmonyOS 2.0 developer Beta version has enhanced the following features:

1) Use the cloud simulator in HUAWEI DevEco Studio and download the DevEco Studio 2.1 Beta4 version from the HarmonyOS official website. The company recommends this method for developers whose apps are not on the Huawei App Market.
2) Use the exclusive OTA to upgrade their devices for subsequent updates. Click the “I want to register” button to apply on this page. After the registration is approved, you will receive an invitation email (or SMS) from Huawei’s official public beta. You can get the OTA push subsequently depending on the content guidelines of the email (or SMS).
Some Huawei devices support OTA upgrades
The HarmonyOS 2.0 developers beta has been available for a couple of months. The current list of system versions that support OTA upgrades is Mate X2, Mate40, Mate40E, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, Mate 40 RS Porsche Design, Huawei Smart Screen S, Huawei Smart Screen S Pro, P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro+, Mate 30 4G, Mate 30 Pro 4G, Mate 30 5G, Mate 30 Pro 5G, Mate 30 RS Porsche Design, Mate 30E Pro 5G, MatePad Pro, as well as MatePad Pro 5G. Furthermore, there will be more models from subsequent announcements from Huawei.
We expect Huawei to add more of its devices for testing of this system in the future. For now, the six nova models and MatePad 10.8 inches are the newbies for HarmonyOS 2.0 testing.
