The OnePlus Nord, which became the brand’s first mid-range smartphone and launched last July, has made quite a splash. It is not surprising that since November; rumors about its successor under the name Nord 2 have been circulating on the Web. And although there was still no official confirmation of the development of the device, not so long ago we learned about the likely abandonment of the Snapdragon chip in the second generation of the hit.
Today, OnePlus has confirmed the existence and naming of the device by deliberately or accidentally adding “Nord 2” to the list of smartphones participating in the Stadia Premiere Edition promotion in Europe. And given the fact that the promotion will last until September 30, there is no doubt that the presentation of OnePlus Nord 2 will take place earlier than this date.
OnePlus canceled Nord SE release and is preparing Nord 2
At the end of last year, it was reported that OnePlus was planning to release a relatively inexpensive Nord SE smartphone – a special version of the OnePlus Nord model. And now there is new information about this and other projects of the manufacturer.

As reported on the pages of the Voice website, the release of Nord SE has been canceled. The reasons for this decision have not been reported; but observers do not rule out the possibility that the name Nord SE is reserved for one of the future OnePlus devices.
Meanwhile, new data has appeared about the OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone; which is being created according to a project codenamed Denniz. Earlier there were rumors that this device could have a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor; with an integrated 5G modem. However, other information is now available.
The OnePlus Nord 2 will run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 780G chip. This product contains eight processing cores with a clock speed of up to 2.4 GHz; an Adreno 642 graphics accelerator and a Snapdragon X53 5G cellular modem.
There are also reports that the official presentation of OnePlus Nord 2 will take place during the second; or third quarter of this year. Without a doubt, in the near future this device will begin to acquire additional details.
