Huawei officially confirms that Huawei Watch 3 will use HarmonyOS

Earlier today, Huawei officially announced the return of the Huawei WATCH 3 flagship. The Weibo post confirming the return reads “everything is omnipresent. Wisdom on the wrist is all things”. This Weibo message comes with an image of HarmonyOS written on top of the Watch 3. This is also the first confirmation that there will be an HarmonyOS product at Huawei’s June 2 conference.

Earlier, Huawei announced on May 25 that it would hold the HarmonyOS operating system and Huawei’s full-scene new product launch conference at 20:00 on June 2. The company also announced that HarmonyOS will cover smartphones, smartwatches, and other products. However, it did not specifically announce at the time that the Huawei Watch 3 will use HarmonyOS.

Huawei Watch 3 gets NBTC certification

Huawei Watch 3 recently appeared on NBTC certification website ahead of its launch. According to the listing, the model number of this device is GLL-AL04. Furthermore, the NBTC listing shows that this device will support eSIM connectivity. Unfortunately, like other NBTC listings, the amount of information it reveals is limited.

However, the Huawei Watch 3 has also passed through Russia’s EEC database and Indonesia Telecom certification. With the arrival of these certifications, we already had a clue that the launch of this smartwatch is imminent.

In addition to the Watch 3, Huawei Watch 3 Pro also made an appearance on the NBTC website. However, we do not know if Huawei will unveil both devices at the June 2 conference. However, what we know is that both the Huawei Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro will arrive later this year. The Huawei Watch 3 Pro comes with the model number GLL-AL04. Unfortunately, there is no official information on the possible launch date for the Pro model.

Huawei unveiled the Huawei smartwatch HUAWEI WATCH at the 2015 Mate8 conference. Subsequently, the company released the HUAWEI WATCH 2 (and 2018 models) in 2017 and then launched a number of GT series smartwatches. We have also seen children’s watches and a couple of Fit watches.

Huawei has high hopes for its HarmonyOS

Huawei stated that HarmonyOS is a new generation of intelligent terminal operating system that provides a unified language for the intelligence, interconnection, and collaboration of different devices. It offers a simple, smooth, continuous, safe, and reliable full-scene interactive experience. Huawei expects that by the end of 2021, the number of devices equipped with the Harmony operating system will reach 300 million, of which Huawei’s equipment will exceed 200 million, and the number of various terminal devices for third-party partners will exceed 100 million.
