Samsung Galaxy A22 5G full specs emerge: Dimensity 700, 90Hz display and more


After making a huge success with the Galaxy A and M series, Samsung is giving a step further this year. The company is adding 5G connectivity to this segment allowing users in the budget segment to have 5G connectivity. Earlier this year, the company introduced the Galaxy A52 5G as one of its first 5G smartphones in the mid-range segment. The company followed with the release of the Galaxy M42 5G and now is about to reach a new spot with the release of the Galaxy A22 5G. The new smartphone will be the cheapest 5G smartphone from Samsung and the leaked specifications reveal that it will be quite good!

Since the beginning of this year, we’ve been seeing that Samsung isn’t in its best grip when it coming to keeping smartphones a secret. The Galaxy A52 5G and A72 5G leaked thousand of times ahead of their release. The Galaxy A22 5G isn’t different. After appearing on multiple certifications and even on a benchmark listing, the device now had complete specifications, and render leaked. The recent leak reaffirms most of the Galaxy A22 5G specifications that have leaked so far.

Samsung Galaxy A22 5G specifications

The Galaxy A22 5G flaunts a 6.6-inch IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. Interestingly, this display also has a 90 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone carries MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. The new smartphone will have options with 4GB and 6GB of RAM. Apparently, both variants will be coupled with 64GB of Internal Storage. Fortunately, you can expand the storage amount with a microSD card which allows expansion up to 1TB.

In terms of optics, the new smartphone will have a Triple-Camera setup. The primary sensor is a 48MP primary camera, the secondary is a 5MP ultra-wide shooter. The third and final sensor is a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video-calling, Samsung will offer an 8MP snapper. In terms of software, the smartphone runs Android 11 straight out of the box with One UI 3.1 running on top. In terms of connectivity, the device is a dual-SIM smartphone that has 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port that provides 15W charging for the 5,000mAh battery.

According to rumors, the new handset will measure 9mm in terms of thickness. The weight will be around 203 grams. As far as the pricing is concerned, the device will retail at around 250 Euros. This price tag effectively makes it the cheapest 5G smartphone that Samsung has to offer.
