Samsung is one of the companies that is actively working on under-display camera technology. Perhaps, it is from the South Korean giant that one can expect a mature and self-sufficient development. But it will be possible to evaluate it this year and the first smartphone of the company with a sub-screen camera will be the Galaxy Z Fold 3. But already now the well-known Samsung insider with the nickname Ice Universe promises us something impressive.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
On his Twitter page, he published information that the company’s engineers managed to achieve a 40% increase in light transmission at the location of the camera relative to solutions from other brands that we have ever seen. Interestingly, at the same time, he does not specify which brands are developing such a solution and how it was possible to make a comparison, if at the moment only ZTE presented a smartphone with a sub-screen camera, and the same Xiaomi and Oppo only demonstrated prototypes, which are not correct to evaluate.
Therefore, most likely we are talking exclusively about the ZTE Axon 20, which disappointed with the performance of the camera and the quality of the photos created on it. It will be possible to compare the capabilities of both front-cameras no earlier than September after the release of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. According to rumors, the announcement of the third-generation folding smartphone should be expected at the end of August.

AMD Confirms Samsung Processors Will Get RDNA2 Graphics
Recently, AMD held a presentation at the Computex 2021 digital exhibition; where, among other things, it announced the imminent appearance of its graphics architecture in smartphones. AMD CEO Lisa Su has announced that Samsung’s upcoming high-performance mobile processor will have RDNA2 graphics architecture.
Lisa Su said, “ AMD has partnered with industry leader Samsung for several years to drive graphics innovation in the mobile market, and we are now pleased to announce that we will provide our custom graphics solution for integration into the next flagship mobile SoC, with ray tracing and variable shading rate”.
The head of AMD refused to share details about the upcoming Samsung mobile flagship SoC. However, since we are talking about Samsung’s next flagship chip; we can confidently say that the announcement will take place already this year. It is likely that the first smartphone with this SoC will not be long in coming.
Of course, the most sensational statement is about ray tracing support. Perhaps Samsung will release the world’s first smartphone to support this technology. True, so far there is no place to use it, because there are no mobile games with ray tracing yet. But with the release of the new SoC from Samsung, they will certainly appear; and if the experience turns out to be successful, there will be quite a few of them. Also add that current Samsung mobile processors use ARM Mali GPUs.
