First VIVO Tablet Passed TUV Rheinland Certification

We have already told for myriads of times that the smartphone market is over-saturated and the traditional smartphone makers are looking for new markets. And first categories they are looking at are those that are close to smartphones. Among them, we can mention tablets, smartwatches, TWS products, etc. VIVO is one of those brands that has been focusing on smartphones for many years. But it is going to enter other niches as well. As said, tablets are among those products that traditional OEMs can design. And as a well-known Weibo tipster proves, the first VIVO tablet has already passed a TUV Rheinland certification, hinting at its upcoming launch. Not that much is known from the certification document, but we can see that it will have a 7860mAh rated capacity battery (the nominal capacity is 8040mAh).

The front of the VIVO tablet will adopt the mainstream full-screen design. Also, the camera module on the back will use VIVO’s own “cloud-level” design. It will include two lenses. On the right side of the tablet, it will carry power and volume rocker keys.

The Name Of VIVO Tablet

Prior to this, VIVO has applied for registration of iQOO Pad, iQOO Book, NEX Book, NEX Pad and other trademarks in June last year. They all are “tablet names”. So there is every reason to think VIVO will launch not one but a few tablet products. However, it’s worth mentioning that VIVO has registered the VIVO Pad name at the EUIPO trademark recently. The trademark filing date is June 18, 2021.

At the moment, we have no information when the first VIVO tablet will come to the market. But we have to recall that this manufacturer should had launched the VIVO Pad at VIVO X60 Pro+ launch event. As you understand, at that time, we didn’t see this product on the stage. As for now, there are many rumors suggesting that this handset will come in the first half of 2021.

Anyway, once the first VIVO tablet is out, it will compete with the Xiaomi Mi Pad series and Huawei’s MatePad tablet lineup. But both brands have made a name for themselves. So it will be quite difficult to make a tough competition to them.

We shouldn’t be surprised of such moves from the manufacturers. We mean the growth of online education and entertainment has helped this niche to resurrect. So more and more hardware terminal manufacturers, Internet companies, and online education brands are making their own tablet products.
