In March of this year, Xiaomi officially released its first foldable smartphone, Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold. This device is currently the companies most expensive flagship smartphone. Although this device reactivated Xiaomi’s MIX series, it is not a regular MIX phone. The MIX Fold is Xiaomi’s first MIX series smartphone since 2019. The MIX Fold comes with a couple of new technologies including foldable display, self-developed ISP, liquid lens, and other technologies. However, the MIX Fold is not the MIX flagship that users are waiting for. According to multiple reports, the conventional Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will arrive in Q3 2021. From the speculations so far, this device will debut in July at the earliest.
According to popular Weibo leakster, @DCS, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 takes its codename from a god. The codename is “odin” which is the “the great magician among the gods” in Germanic mythology.
Previously, there were also reports from the same source that the high version of the Redmi K40 gaming version has the code name “ares”. This is the god of war in ancient Greek mythology and the most powerful symbol of the twelve gods.
Gizchina News of the week
If we are to make some deductions from the codename, Xiaomi seems to have confidence in this device. Obviously, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will further launch Xiaomi into the flagship market. The Chinese manufacturer has been subtly avoiding the flagship smartphone market for some years. However, with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, the companies seem to be having more confidence.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 under-screen camera to retain excellent quality
According to previous news, Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will become Xiaomi’s first under-screen camera flagship. This smartphone will be able to completely hide the front camera below the screen. Although this camera should preserve the excellent imaging effect, we can not be too sure about that.
Nevertheless, the screen quality of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will be slightly inferior to that of the Mi 11 Ultra. As of now, the on-screen camera technology is still in development and very complex. Due to its complexity, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 may not support a 2K+ resolution display. However, the company will use a specially customized high-resolution screen. This screen will have a better display effect than the general 1080P.
In addition to the ultimate screen, the Xiaomi Mi MIX4 will also have top performance. Not only will it use the top-notch Snapdragon 888 processor, it will also have a 4500 mAh battery. This battery will support 120W wired fast charging, which can provide sufficient battery life for the device. The 120W is currently Xiaomi’s peak in its fast charging development.
