Last year, Apple first released the iPad Air 4 with the A14 processor before the new iPhone 12 series. Of course, the iPhone 12 series arrived a month late relative to previous years because of the pandemic situation. The launch time of the iPhone 12 means a shorter preparation time for the iPhone 13 series. Nevertheless, Apple insists on holding the autumn new product launch conference in September according to schedule.
The latest leak regarding the iPhone 13 claims that this series will officially arrive on September 14th. This series will still have four models – the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, the 6.1-inch iPhone 13, the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max. Furthermore, there are reports that there is no shortage of parts and components for the new phones. Also, the new iPhones will enter mass production at the end of August / early September.
According to TrendForce, the iPhone 13 series will not have a 1TB version. This means that the maximum storage capacity is 512GB. In addition, the price of the new iPhone will be the same s that of the previous generation. This also implies that the iPhone 13 mini will have a $699 starting price.
Gizchina News of the week
The iPhone 13 series will upgrade the entire series to the A15 processor. The chip will be built using TSMC’s N5P process, which is the second-generation 5nm. Relative to the Bionic A14, the performance is at least 20% higher, and it can also increase efficiency by 30%.
More importantly, there are reports that Apple will introduce LTPO screens for the two Pro models. These displays will support smart refresh rate adjustments of 1 – 120Hz. Of course, these will be Apple’s first-ever iPhones to support a screen refresh rate above 60Hz.
It is worth mentioning that according to a recent report by a well-known analyst, Dan Ives, Apple plans to produce 130 million to 150 million iPhones in the second half of this year. Out of this number, the new iPhone will account for 35% – 45% of the total output. The first batch of orders in the third quarter will reach 90 million to 100 million units. This is much higher than the 80 million units for iPhone 12 in the same period last year.
The recent activities at Foxconn (Apple’s most in-depth foundry partner) confirm that the iPhone 13 will soon enter mass production. Since the beginning of June, Foxconn has repeatedly added bonuses to the internal promotion, and it has been actively sourcing for ways to attract more new employees and ensure the production of the iPhone 13.
