Honor will release two smartphones with flexible display

Network sources report that the Honor brand; which recently split from Huawei due to US sanctions, is designing at least two smartphones with flexible displays.

The website of the China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has reported that Honor has registered two trademarks for future devices. These are the Honor Magic Fold and Honor Magic Flip.

It is noted that in the second half of this year, the Honor Magic Fold smartphone, made in a book format, will debut. This device will have a large flexible display that folds into the body. When unfolded, the gadget can function as a small tablet. The device has a powerful Snapdragon 888 Pro processor; which has not yet been official yet.

As for the Honor Magic Flip, it will probably get a clamshell format – like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr. The announcement of this device may take place next year.

According to forecasts by Counterpoint Technology Market Research; this year global shipments of smartphones with flexible display will be at the level of 7.5 million units. In 2022, sales could reach 18.3 million units.
