Huawei has been developing the Huawei P50 series for quite some time and there has been a delay in its launch. The cause of the delay is already public knowledge. Since the Chinese manufacturer can not use American technology, it needs to look for viable alternatives. According to reports, the launch of the Huawei P50 series is not far away. The new report from Weibo user, @长安数码君 claims that there are already prototypes and offline materials for this smartphone. According to him, we should be able to “see them” in July. Whether he is referring to the prototypes and offline materials or he is referring to the Huawei P50 series remains uncertain.
At present, Huawei P50 (model JAD-AL50) has a network access license from TENAA. This means that this device is just waiting for its official release. However, the Huawei P50 that has the TENAA license is a 4G version. This implies that Huawei will have multiple versions of this smartphone both 4G and 5G versions. The core parameters of the 4G version are still uncertain. However, there are reports that the Huawei P50 4G version will use a Qualcomm 8 series processor. Furthermore, the 5G version may use the Kirin 9000 chip.
Gizchina News of the week
Huawei P50 4G will use a Snapdragon processor
Previously, Huawei used Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor on the new MatePad products. Thus, it is not out of place to believe that the company will use the Qualcomm chip on the 4G version. For those unaware, Huawei has the license to purchase many 4G chips from American manufacturers. However, the ban becomes active in the 5G segment. Huawei can not purchase any 5G related component from American manufactures.
Huawei’s consumer business CEO, Yu Chengdong, said that the Huawei P50 series has taken functions such as taking pictures to a new level. As the flagship of the year, the Huawei P50 series is equipped with the new HarmonyOS 2 operating system. Yu Chengdong pointed out that in the era of the Internet of Things (IoT), no one will be an island. The company said
“No matter how difficult it is, Huawei’s determination to provide global consumers with a better user experience and better products will not change. We hope to prosper the Hongmeng ecosystem with more partners and developers and provide global consumers with a better experience, better products, and better services”.
Whether or not HarmonyOS will succeed remains to be seen. However, the development for now is massive and it already has millions of users.
