Motorola Edge PStar bags 3C certification with 33W charger

Motorola Edge PStar

Motorola started with the Edge series with the Motorola Edge and Edge+ in February. The family of “flagship/premium” Motorola smartphones gained a “cost-effective” member in China in January dubbed Motorola Edge S. Several months have passed since and Motorola is now gearing up to expand the Edge family. Currently, the company is working on devices that bear Motorola Edge Berlin, Motorola Edge Kyoto, and the Motorola Edge PStar. Some of the specifications of these handsets have leaked ahead of their release. Today, we have more details to explore regarding the Motorola Edge Pstar. This variant already passed through 3C, Wi-Fi, and EEC certification ahead of its official debut.

The 3C certification reveals the Motorola Edge PStar carries a model number XT2153-1. The device will come with 33W fast-charging support and will pack 5G connectivity. The fast-charging tech shows that Motorola is walking in the right direction at least when it comes to the Motorola Edge series. It may not be the fastest, but it’s okay if we compare it with other Motorola devices. Moving on to the Wi-Fi alliance certifications, the smartphone also bears the very same XT2153-1 model number. The Wireless Connectivity certification process states that the Motorola PStar will run Android 11 straight out of the box. This isn’t a big surprise as we’re in June and Android 12 is knocking on the doors already. Lastly, we have EEC certification that does not reveal any of the specifications of this upcoming smartphone. It only confirms the model number one more time.

Motorola Edge Pstar alleged specifications

As far as the specifications of the smartphone go, it is said to carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon or even a Snapdragon 865 chipset. Furthermore, it will come in Black, Blue, and White colorways. The processing power will be alongside 6 GB / 8 GB or even 12 GB of RAM. When it comes to storage, these RAM options will be split between variants with 128 GB or 512 GB. As for the optics, the device will come with a triple camera setup. The rumors suggest it will carry a 108 MP primary camera, a 16 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8 MP telephoto camera. In terms of selfies and video calling, the device will flaunt a 32MP camera. We assume Motorola will drill a hole in the display to equip this camera.

Unfortunately, other details such as display size, design, and battery capacity remain a mystery at the moment. We can expect an AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint given the premium nature of the other specifications. We expect more details to emerge officially in the coming days.
