OnePlus has launched two OnePlus Nord smartphones for the 2021 season – The OnePlus Nord CE 5G and the OnePlus Nord N200. Now, the big question is when will the successor of the original Nord arrive? The answer is pretty soon as the leaks regarding the new smartphone are intensifying. OnePlus already confirmed the smartphone’s arrival (unofficially) via its unofficial UK website. However, it is yet to confirm the smartphone’s launch date. The device is expected for July or August this year, and ahead of its release, design renders have leaked online revealing the OnePlus Nord 2 design.
The new leaked renders come along with a 360-degree video and show the smartphone in all its glory. The OnePlus Nord 2 brings major changes in terms of design and it is closer to the OnePlus 9 family. The new images have been shared by Steve Hemmerstoffer from OnLeaks, via 91Mobiles. In addition to the images, the report also reveals a couple of key specifications about the new smartphone. The most noticeable similarity between this smartphone and the OnePlus 9 family is in the camera module’s design. It ditches the thin oval camera cutout in favor of a big rectangular cut with two massive cutouts for the main sensors.
Gizchina News of the week
The leak confirms that the OnePlus Nord 2 will have a triple-camera setup with the LED flash placed inside the camera cutout. Just like other smartphones from the brand, we can also spot the OnePlus logo on the back. Moving around to the front, we have a flat display with slim bezels and a punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner. The bottom serves as a home for the USB Type-C port, SIM tray, and speaker grille. The smartphone measures 160 x 73.8 x 8.1 mm and will also feature the company’s signature alert slider.
OnePlus Nord 2 alleged specifications
According to leaks and rumors, the OnePlus Nord 2 will bring a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. The device will be the company’s first take in the market with a MediaTek chipset. The Dimensity 1200 offers a flagship level of performance and is comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. So the OnePlus Nord 2 will be way faster than its predecessor with the Snapdragon 765G. The device appeared with 8GB of RAM. It will flaunt a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.
As per the rumors, the OnePlus Nord 2 will feature a 50 MP Sony IMX766 primary camera. It comes alongside an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and another 2 MP sensor. For selfies, the device will pack a 32 MP shooter inside the punch-hole. The device may come with a 4,500mAh battery offering 30W fast-charging support.
