The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will be the company’s flagship for the second half of this year. Over the past few weeks, there have been multiple reports regarding this smartphone. One of the reports claims that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will come with a quad-curved display. However, the latest report shows that the MIX 4 uses an ordinary hyperboloid display. The quad-curved display design is similar to the style of the Xiaomi Mi 11. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will come with an under-screen camera display. Obviously, this display will be quite expensive. Making this screen a quad-curved display will only make the smartphone more expensive.
This smartphone will retain the same square-ish design as the Xiaomi MIX series. However, it will upgrade the internals and design feel. This bezeless design will ensure that the visual experience of the display is premium. In addition, this phone will have a true full-screen smartphone considering its under-screen camera technology.
Gizchina News of the week
Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will reduce the quality of the display
According to news from the supply chain, Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will use a screen panel from Huaxing Optoelectronics. Unfortunately, this panel only supports 1080P resolution which is unavoidable. If Xiaomi wants the camera output to be great, the screen details have to drop. However, Xiaomi’s current under-screen front camera technology is relatively mature. The self-developed pixel arrangement has greatly improved the display effect of the camera area. Furthermore, using optimization of the camera algorithm, Xiaomi brings a conventional camera performance to this device. Also, the self-portrait performance and the screen window effect are also great.
In terms of configuration, in addition to the Snapdragon 888 Plus, the Mi MIX 4 will also use a 5000 mAh large battery. Some leaks say that this device will support a 4500 mAh battery. Whatever the case is, it will support 120W fast charging (wire) and the wireless fast charging capacity will be very high (70W or more). However, there is a new policy in preparation that may stop Xiaomi from using above 50W wireless charging. Most likely, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will officially arrive before the policy becomes law.
According to a recent leak, the price of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will start at 5999 yuan ($928). This makes it more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra which is currently the most expensive Xiaomi smartphone. With the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, the company now have more confidence to release flagship smartphones at a flagship price.
