OnePlus Nord 2 5G is slated to debut in India and Europe later this month. The Chinese handset maker has already revealed some key details about its upcoming phone. Moreover, the phone has been subject to multiple leaks that have revealed more information about the device.
The NBTC certification website has listed the Nord 2 5G ahead of its launch. Meanwhile, the Chinese company has announced the Nord Ambassador Program to lure more potential buyers. Those participating in the program will get benefits such as free access to OnePlus Nord devices.
The Nord Ambassador Program focuses on making Nord fans. This is a similar strategy adopted by other manufacturers like Xiaomi. This approach involves encouraging enthusiasts and loyal users to promote their products. As part of the new program, OnePlus said it will share details about its upcoming products, access to events, and exclusive content.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G Spotted On NBTC
The Nord 2 5G will be launched in India on July 22. Just days ahead of its launch, the phone has appeared on the NBTC certification website. The listing shows the device’s name and the model number it carries. The Nord 2 has been assigned the model number DN2103.
While the NBTC listing does not reveal more details, most of the phone’s key specs have already surfaced online. OnePlus has confirmed that the upcoming handset will pack Dimensity 1200 AI SoC. Last month, design renders of the phone leaked via 91mobiles, revealing the entire design of the Nord 2.
Gizchina News of the week
Renowned leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka Onleaks) suggests that the Nord 2 will bear a striking resemblance to the OnePlus 9 series, especially the camera module’s design. According to the tipster, the upcoming phone features two big circular cutouts placed inside a square-shaped module on the back.
Price & Other Key Details
The OnePlus Nord was launched carrying a €399 (about $472) price tag. While nothing is set in stone yet, the hotly-anticipated successor is likely to cost more or less the same.
Furthermore, the Nord 2 will come with three rear-mounted cameras, along with a LED flash. The OnePlus logo will also be placed on the back. Upfront, there’s a hole-punch cutout located at the top-left corner. The bottom houses a speaker grille, SIM tray, and a USB Type-C port.
Aside from that, the device roughly measures 160 x 73.8 x 8.1mm. It will also feature OnePlus’ trademark alert slider. The phone’s AI benchmark website listing revealed that it will ship with 8GB of RAM, and will sport a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.
If previously surfaced reports are anything to go by, the Nord 2 will house a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, as well as a 2MP sensor. Upfront, it will have a 32MP selfie camera, which will be housed inside the punch-hole notch. It could be backed by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.
