Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 display – straight or curved? Which will it be?

However, the speculations so far shows that this device will arrive in August. Earlier reports shows that this smartphone will use a curved under-screen camera design. However, a few days ago, there were reports that this smartphone will come with a straight screen. The latest report claoims that this device will use a curved display just like the previous rumors. So, which will it be? straight display or curved screen?

According to Weibo leakster, @i冰宇宙, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will arrive next month with a hyperboloid screen. According to him, this device will be the first smartphone in China with an under-screen camera as well as an hyperboloid screen. The previous under-screen camera phone (ZTE Axon 20 5G) uses a straight screen solution.

There are also reports that the display resolution of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is FHD+. The use of the under-screen camera on this phone will make ity achieve a true full-screen display. Not only that, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will also come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus flagship processor. This smartphone will only support the 100W fast charging.

According to Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of the Redmi brand, the under-screen camera is the best solution for the full-screen era.

According to news from the supply chain, Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will use a screen panel from Huaxing Optoelectronics. Unfortunately, this panel only supports 1080P resolution which is unavoidable. If Xiaomi wants the camera output to be great, the screen details have to drop. However, Xiaomi’s current under-screen front camera technology is relatively mature. The self-developed pixel arrangement has greatly improved the display effect of the camera area. Furthermore, using optimization of the camera algorithm, Xiaomi brings a conventional camera performance to this device. In terms of configuration, this phone will use a 5000 mAh large battery but some leaks say that it will come with a 4500 mAh battery. According to a recent leak, the price of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will start at 5999 yuan ($928). This makes it more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra which is currently the most expensive Xiaomi smartphone.
