Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced today that the company has begun the construction of a huge factory for fully automatic production of smartphones. The production has a symbolic name “Black Light Factory” because it will hardly need workers. Every three seconds one smartphone will leave the conveyors of the enterprise, assembly, testing and packaging of which will be performed by robots.
In August last year, Xiaomi launched the first phase of the Smart Factory. It was a robotic factory for the production of smartphones with a capacity of one million devices per year. In fact, during the first phase of the project, the company studied and worked out the possibility of automatic lines to work without human participation or with minimal human participation. The experience gained allowed the company to embark on the second phase of the project, during which an automatic production facility with a capacity of 10 million smartphones per year will be built.
Both Black Light factories are located in two districts of Beijing. The project for the second stage was completed three months ago. Recently, the company received the rights to use the land and immediately began construction. They promise to put into operation a new automatic production at the end of 2023. The new venture is expected to generate at least 60 billion yuan ($ 9.3 billion) annually.

It would be interesting to know how much it costs to launch such a plant. The factory will work around the clock without lunch breaks, weekends and holidays. It will pay off pretty quickly.
Xiaomi will present affordable flagships Redmi K50 only by February 2022
Internet sources have unveiled a new piece of information about the Redmi K50 series smartphones; which the Chinese company Xiaomi is preparing for release. Earlier, Lu Weibing, general manager of Redmi brand, through the social network Weibo, confirmed the development of the named devices. At the same time, he did not go into any details.
Now the authoritative tech blog Digital Chat Station, which often publishes reliable information about future mobile innovations, has revealed the timing of the presentation of the Redmi K50 smartphones. It will officially launch February next year.
We expect that the devices will include a flagship Qualcomm processor; and a flash drive with a capacity of up to 512 GB. The devices will receive a high-quality display with a high refresh rate and, probably, support for wireless charging.
The family will include two models – the basic version of the Redmi K50 and the more efficient variant of the Redmi K50 Pro. Both of them will be able to operate in fifth generation mobile networks.
I dislike and condemn this approach of Xiaomi despite I like there mobile phones. They should creat job opportunities for people rather than the machines.
