MIUI progress this week: Top 10 Questions & Answers

Over the last few months, there have been multiple reports regarding Xiaomi’s MIUI system. No doubt, the MIUI system has been one of Xiaomi’s selling points for a few years. However, since the launch of MIUI 12, the system has been a shadow of its former self. The company is currently battling a plethora of issues with the MIUI system. Nevertheless, it appears that as it solves one, another appears. The arrival of the MIUI 12.5 system seeks to take care of most of these issues. The update has not been very successful so far. Question 1: The Xiaomi Mi 10 smartphone freezes occasionally when using WeChat. Any update on this issue?

Question 2: For some time now, the app store has been seriously lagging. Apps open slowly and the operation is not seamless. Please why?

Question 3: When playing “Honor of Kings” with the Redmi K20 Pro, there is a serious flaw with the operation. The smartphone lags, frame rate drops sometimes and it struggles to run some scenes. Any fix for this issue?

Answer: When the game screen setting and frame rate setting of “Honor of Kings” are high, the power consumption of the mobile phone will be very high. This will eventually cause the smartphone to emit a lot of heat. For this reason, the mobile phone will dynamically reduce the frame rate, and the power consumption of the phone will also reduce. Question 6: After updating to the MIUI 12.5.4.0.RKKCNXM version, the Redmi K40 Pro has an unstable network. What can I do to avoid this issue? Is there any fix? 

Answer: The current stable version (MIUI 12.5.4.4.0.RKKCNXM) for the Redmi K40 Pro has been available for over a month. Since its release, there have been a couple of optimizations. The latest version carries these optimizations. Some of the improvements include 

• Optimization of frequent switching between SA and LTE under certain network environments
• Optimization of certain telecommunication cards not registering LTE (caused by loss of SIM card internal files)
• Fix for a bug that causes some incoming calls to automatically end

Question 9: The ringtone setting of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is invalid in the MIUI 12.5.6.6.RKJCNXM update. Any fix for this issue? 

Answer: We are happy to inform you that there is already a fix for this issue. The fix is available in the MIUI 12.5.7.0.RKJCNXM version. MIUI 13 will improve on MIUI 12

So far, MIUI 12 has not been living up to expectations. The issues are just too much but MIUI 13 promises to do more. The speculations so far show that the MIUI 13 will focus on the “distributed menu”. It will come with more content options, including photo and video, health, smart home, battery and power, car, office and productivity, travel, multi-device interconnection, privacy protection, cloud services, basic tool services, etc. Furthermore, this system will support cross-screen collaboration and operation with computers, tablets, and TVs. We expect the MIUI 13 system to be seamless and free from incessant issues.
