From the reports so far, we have just about two months before the official release of the iPhone 13 series. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had his say about the new iPhone 13 series. Gurman predicts that the iPhone 13 series will come with a new Bionic A15 chip, smaller notch as well a 120Hz high refresh rate. Well, these are things that we already know. However, he also claims that this new series may support a constant always-on screen mode similar to the Apple Watch.
Since the release of the iPhone X, users have always hoped that iOS supports the always-on mode. However, Apple has not been paying much attention to this feature. If the message is accurate, it means that the users can get some information on the standby interface without activating the iPhone. Users can access weather information and even app notifications.
Last year, a supply chain indicated that this year’s iPhone series may use an always-on display. However, there is no official information from Apple. In fact, Apple will not disclose such information to the public before the official launch.
Gizchina News of the week
iPhone 13 series launch tentatively set for September 14th
According to @LeaksApplePro, Apple’s September launch event is currently scheduled to be held in the 37th week, which is September 14 (considering the time difference, the launch event should be the early morning of September 15th in China). At the press conference, the company will announce the new iPhones which will start pre-order on September 17th. Furthermore, these devices will commence shipping on September 24th.
He also emphasized that the above-mentioned pre-sale time also applies to this year’s new iPhone. Judging from most of the current news, the most important upgrades of Apple’s iPhone are the rear lens and high refresh rate support. There are almost no changes in other aspects.
In terms of design, the iPhone 13 is expected to inherit the ID style of the iPhone 12 series. The middle frame still adopts a right-angle design, but the front screen has ushered in the biggest change in four years, adopting a new “small (short) notch” scheme. The changes on the back are mainly on the camera module, and the rear dual camera has been changed from a vertical arrangement to a diagonal arrangement.
In addition, the Pro iPhone should come with a LiDAR sensor. The highest storage capacity may be 1TB. Other aspects such as battery and baseband will also upgrade to a certain extent. However, these new iPhone 13 series should have the same starting price as the iPhone 12 series.
