Huawei P50 Series Will Challenge Current Camera Phones

As a reminder, on June 2, at a new product launch conference, Huawei Consumer CEO Yu Chengdong talked about the Huawei P50. He said “because of some reasons that everyone is aware of, our time [of Huawei P50] to market has not yet been determined. But we are working hard to find a way to provide this great product to everyone.”

Now, the dust has settled. Today, we got a few interesting info about it. Not surprisingly, the Huawei P50 series will continue the ultimate camera performance and aesthetic thinking of the Huawei P series’ flagship positioning. And it will challenge the current models and take the mobile camera performing to new heights.

Combined with the currently known news, the Huawei P50 series will have three different models: P50, P50 Pro, and P50 Pro+. The whole series adopts a unique dual-ring camera module design. Honestly, this unique design increases the series’ recognition rate.

As a well-known Weibo tipster said, the Huawei P50 will adopt a triple-camera solution, in which the main camera will use the latest upgraded IMX707 sensor. Also, there will be the Sony IMX600 lens, which should correspond to the ultra-wide-angle lens. Lastly, there will be a 3x telephoto lens.

By the way, the Sony IMX707 sensor has a 1/1.28-inch ultra-large bottom, 50MP resolution, and supports a four-in-one output of 12.5MP photos. The unit area is ​​2.44μm screen and the aperture is F/1.7.

As for the Huawei P50 Pro, it went further and upgraded to a quad-camera solution with specifications of IMX800 + OV64A + 5x periscope + new ToF. The main camera sensor (IMX800) is the largest lens in Sony’s history. It comes with a 1/1.18-inch ultra-large bottom. It is very likely to become the largest sensor ever. With Huawei’s unique RYYB technology, the phone will be ideal when shooting night photos.

Not only that, the appearance of the Huawei P50 series has also undergone major changes. Now, all models will come with a centered punch-hole screen as standard. Among them, the standard version has a straight screen, while the Pro and Pro+ versions have a curved screen solution.

As for the processor, the Huawei P50 series may come with Snapdragon 888 series 4G chips and Kirin 9000 5G chips.
