Samsung already confirmed the arrival of its next batch of foldable smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 will be the company’s second half-year flagships. Although the foldable display is something that puts these devices aside from what we get from the “standard” flagship industry, we’re always expecting advancements in more aspects. Unfortunately, not everything will be an advancement on the Galaxy Z Flip3. As per the reliable tipster IceUniverse, the Galaxy Z Flip3 will come with very slow 15W charging.
It’s crazy to think how Samsung is behind its competitors when it comes to charging tech. While other companies are continuously exploring the fast-charging technology, Samsung is shielding away. This year we saw smartphones breaking the 100W barrier, and in a couple of months, we’ll see smartphones going up to 160W charging. Xiaomi, for example, already is developing a technology that promises astonishing 200W charging. Meanwhile, Samsung’s super-expensive smartphone will charge slower than some mid-range smartphones in the industry. For a quick comparison, the recently released Galaxy A22 5G comes with 15W charging as a standard.
The iPhone 13 series will use 25W fast charging, Samsung is still launching 15W Z Flip3 😂

The Galaxy Z Fold3 won’t be a smartphone for battery fans
Of course, we’re not expecting the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 to be impressive in the whole battery department. There are some challenges that the company needs to overcome. After all, the clamshell-like build is somewhat complicated. The Korean firm may not be very confident in pushing the charging on this particular smartphone. We’re talking about Samsung, the company that had to recall the entire batch of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones due to a failure in the battery.
If we recall, the Galaxy Z Flip3 passed by the 3C Certification in May this year. The certification confirmed that the phone would come with just 15W of charging. Now, it’s safe to assume that this is the actual charging speed for Samsung’s clamshell foldable smartphone. According to recent leaks, the smartphone will have a quite small battery with just 3,300mAh. We’re pretty sure that this will not be enough for an entire day of usage. So, before spending money in this device, take battery life into consideration.
As far as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is concerned. This particular variant will come with a 4,400mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. Even that isn’t impressive when mid-range smartphones are offering 65W o charging. Hopefully, this is something associated with foldable technology. Let’s hope that Samsung will finally address its slow charging standards within the Galaxy S22 series.
