We are waiting for many flagship products to come our way from Xiaomi in August. We guess the Xiaomi MIX 4 is in the spotlight, because it will feature Xiaomi’s own under-screen camera technology. But this company hasn’t updated its tablet line for 3 years. And as currently tablets are one of the most selling products on the planet, it’s quite interesting to see what a product our favorite company will bring to the market.
No MIUI 13
Prior to this, we heard some rumors that the Xiaomi MIX 4 and the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series will be the first products to come with the MIUI 13 system out of the box. Many Xiaomi fans have been also guessing that MIUI 13’s debut with such products will change the bloated and stuttered image of the MIUI 12. In fact, the MIUI Team has overhauled the MIUI 13 system. It will come with a more concise design, and at the same time, it should be smoother and more functional.
However, according to the latest news from a Weibo tipster, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will come pre-installed with the MIUI 12.5 system. Thus, it will miss the much-rumored MIUI 13 system at the launch. Of course, it will get the new system through OTA updates later.
Gizchina News of the week
We understand that this is disappointing because all Mi fans have been waiting for the new system on the tablet. But we have what we have. In this sense, we have another piece of information that should be comforting.
Hardware
As you know, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will have three models of high configuration, medium configuration, and low configuration. The toppest model will sport the Snapdragon 870 processor, which is the most popular processor this year. At the same time, the mid-range version will come with the Snapdragon 860 processor. Lastly, the low-end version will feature either a Snapdragon 7 series chip or a Dimensity 1200 processor.
Among them, the high-end version and the middle-end version will adopt a similar design. They will sport a true full screen with no openings on the front. The display quality of this screen should be quite good – 2K resolution. At the same time, the display can boast of various outstanding screen parameters such as a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 4096-level touch control, and an In-Cell active pen technology. Thus, the screen experience is comparable to the iPad Pro.
