Realme introduced its Realme 8 series in March. Although the devices were compelling when you consider the whole package, the performance was somewhat lackluster. The fact is that Realme used the same chipsets for the third time in a row. The Realme 8 comes with the Helio G95 and the Realme 8 Pro with the Dimensity 720G SoC. The company then introduced a 5G variant of the Realme 8 which was more exciting. Now, Realme seems to be working on a new variant for the lineup. The new device will arrive with the Realme 8s moniker in India and other markets. The device had its design revealed by renders.
Realme 8s design and specs
The Realme 8s will be a mid-range smartphone with compelling specs and 5G connectivity. The Realme 8s design renders reveal the smartphone packs a triple-camera setup on the back. The smartphone packs a rectangular camera module that will pack a 64 MP primary camera sensor. The device also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It suggests that the smartphone packs an LCD. After all, in-display fingerprints are something that Realme packs with AMOLED displays. The device will have a power button in the left edge, the SIM tray and power button sit on the right. The bottom portion of the smartphone is a speaker grille, USB Type-C port, and 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Gizchina News of the week
The smartphone will pack a 6.5-inch display with 90 Hz refresh rate support. OnLeaks further claims that the smartphone will pack a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC under the hood. This chipset is new and we still don’t have exact specifications for it. We assume it will be based on the 7 nm architecture and will be beyond the Dimensity 720 in terms of performance, but below the Dimensity 820. The device will come with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB or 256 GB of Internal Storage. Moreover, it has 5 GB of virtual RAM thanks to a new extended RAM feature being included in the software. The device will come with Realme UI 2.0 on top of Android 11.
The Realme 8s will draw its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with 33 W fast-charging support. The phone will come with a 16 MP selfie snapper, and we assume, it’s a top-left cutout. This is the only placement that Realme knows, apparently.
The company is yet to make an official announcement on the Realme 8s launch date. The next months will be quite busy for the company since it has a bunch of products to release. The list of upcoming products includes the Reame X9, X9 Pro, Realme Flash, Realme Pad, and the Realme Book.
