Infinix Smart 5A launching in India on August 2, check specifications here

Infinix Smart 5A

Transsion Holdings is revamping its strategy for global markets since the last year. The conglomerate behind brands Infinix, Itel, and Tecno have been launching a myriad of smartphones recently for all pocket sizes with nice specifications. Just a few days after unveiling new Tecno smartphones, Infinix is doing its move in India. The company announced that a new budget device dubbed Infinix Smart 5A will launch on August 2 on Flipkart. The smartphone as you may expect belongs to the low-end segment with an HD screen, rear-mounted physical fingerprint scanner, and more. Infinix may be busy with the release of new premium smartphones like the one with 160W fast-charging, but it still finds time for new entry-level devices.

Infinix Smart 5A key specifications

The Infinix Smart 5A will pack a 6.52-inch HD+ display, judging by the pricing range of this device, it’s safe to assume that it’s an LCD screen. The device also has a waterdrop notch cutout on the top for the front-facing camera. This design choice has been standard for devices in this category. The device has a thick chin, but we can complain much.

Moving around to the back, we have a gradient finish. The device will come in three colorways – Midnight Black, Quetzal Cyan, and Ocean White. The latter has slightly varying gradient shades of Blue. According to Infinix, its gradient finish is dubbed “Prism Flow”. The rear also serves as a home for the triple camera setup. There are tree-lined cameras sitting inside of a big squareish module. Unfortunately, reports suggest that the device has just two cameras – a 13 MP main and a 2 MP module. Apparently, a third hole is a dummy unit that is here just for aesthetics (seriously?).

The display is said to come with 500 nits of brightness which is quite high for the entry-level segment. The device will draw its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, the major downside is the choice of a micro USB port which is becoming uncommon and archaic right now. According to Infinix, the battery will provide 19 hours of video playback, 16 hours of web browsing time, and 13 hours of gaming. The device will measure 8.7 mm thickness and weigh 183 grams. The back also serves as a home for the fingerprint scanner.

The device will be anything by performance since it comes with the MediaTek Helio G25 SoC. It comes with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores and has just 2 GB of RAM with 32 GB of Internal Storage. Of course, users will be able to expand it via a micro SD card slot.

Curiously, the Infinix Smart 5A is expected to come with exclusive Reliance Jio offers but will sell exclusively through Flipkart.
