Intel has finally unveiled the NUC 11 Extreme compact gaming PC that is designed for avid gamers and streamers. Aside from that, it is an ideal device recording. Intel hinted at an impending launch of a new version of the miniature PC during the recently concluded Computex 2021.
The device delivers portable desktop-level performance despite its compact form factor. Furthermore, the Beast Canyon has a 650W internal power supply and a slew of upgradable components such as compute blade options with customizable memory and storage.

Now, the NUC 11 Extreme has gone up for preorder on SimplyNUC, bearing codename “Beast Canyon”. The price for the NUC 11 Extreme starts at $1,399. The machine is listed with two 11th generation Intel CPU options. Aside from that, it offers ample onboard space for a 12-inch GPU (graphics processing unit).
The aforesaid CPU options include an eight-core Core i9-11900KB and an eight-core Core i7-11700B. Intel told The Verge that those who purchased the NUC 9 Extreme last year will be able to upgrade to the new CPU options. On the downside, using a new CPU in the older chassis will eliminate front panel audio support. On top of that, PCIe Gen 4.0 will not be fully supported.

The online store had listed another configuration with a six-core Core i5-11400H, and a price tag of $1,299. However, Intel decided to dump its plan to make the Core i5 module since the demand for the i9 and i7 is higher. The mini PC offers a significant upgrade over its predecessor. Intel has kept details about India pricing and availability under wraps. We will have to wait for Intel to reveal more details about the India pricing.
Intel NUC 11 Extreme Miniature PC Launched – Features
The Intel NUC 11 Extreme comes with front-mounted RGB LED lighting. For connectivity, it has two USB-A ports, a 3.5mm audio port, and a memory card slot. These connectivity options are placed under the front panel that can be interchanged. Furthermore, the NUC 11 Extreme comes with a 650W internal power supply unit. It supports 64GB dual-channel RAM and has four M.2 slots that can be used for adding SSD-based storage.
The NUC 11 Extreme can support up to Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, considering that it is capable of housing a 12-inch graphics card. The mini PC’s connectivity features also include a full-size HDMI 2.1 port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and six USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 It has three 92mm fans to ensure efficient cooling.
