Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, will release the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 on August 10th. This flagship smartphone will be one of the first devices to use the Snapdragon 888+ SoC. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 with the codename “Xiaomi 2106118C” or “Odin” made its first appearance on GeekBench yesterday. The first listing shows that the running score (single-core) of this device is 863 while the multi-core score is 3181. From the result, the single-core score is lower than many Snapdragon 888 smartphones. However, the multi-core score is higher than many Snapdragon 888 smartphones. The Snapdragon 888+ is supposed to beat the Snapdragon 888 in all ramifications so these scores came as a surprise. Nevertheless, the GeekBench database has since gotten over 20 test results for the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4.
The best results show that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 with Snapdragon 888+ has a single-core score of 1151. On the multi-core end, this device has a score of 3636. This shows that the Snapdragon 888+ clearly beats the Snapdragon 888. The latter’s single-core score barely goes above 1050 while its multi-core score hardly crosses 3400.

According to the report, this MIX 4 uses a 3.0Hz chip. This is obviously the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC. In terms of specifications, the Snapdragon 888+ is still built on the 5nm process. It uses a three-cluster architecture which includes a Cortex X1 super core, Cortex A78 large core, and Cortex A55 core. The super core CPU frequency increases from 2.84GHz (SD888) to 3.0GHz (SD888+). There are three 2.4GHz Cortex A78 and four 1.8GHz Cortex A55 energy-efficient cores. The GPU is still Adreno 660. In addition, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ has greatly improved its AI performance.
