In the past two years, Xiaomi has begun to get involved in the monitors market. The prices of the products it has launched range from 700 yuan to 2500 yuan ($108 – $386), covering all segments from entry-level to high-end. But the company has been also following an unwritten rule – Xiaomi was launching the high-end models, while Redmi was focusing on low-end models.
However, now Redmi seems started working on some slightly high-end monitors. At present, Redmi has put on a 27-inch 2K monitor in JD’s self-operated flagship store. The product title also points out that the product sports an IPS screen with a three-micro-edge design. The pre-sale price is 1399 yuan (216).
Redmi 27-inch 2K Monitor Screen And Design
The Redmi 27-inch 2K Monitor uses an IPS panel with a 2560×1440 ultra-clear resolution. It has an extremely delicate display effect, with a maximum brightness of 300 nits, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, a dynamic contrast ratio of 1000000:1, and the default refresh rate of 60Hz. Plus, this screen supports native 8bit color display.
In terms of appearance, the Redmi 27-inch 2K Monitor uses a hard screen with a left and right viewing angle of 178°. This can effectively reduce blind areas of the field of view. Also, it adopts a three-micro-edge design. In other words, the upper, left and right borders are extremely narrow and support multiple connections. The use of the screen greatly reduces the effect of screen splitting.
