Vivo has just introduced a new smartphone its Y-series in India today with the Vivo Y53s moniker. Interestingly, this particular design was firstly launched in Vietnam. However, for the Indian variant, there is only 4G connectivity. In terms of design, the device is quite similar to the Vivo Y53s 5G, except it comes with a different processor and offers faster 33W charging support. Without further ado, let’s dive into this device’s specifications.
Vivo Y53s (4G) launch
The new Vivo Y53s packs a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen that comes with a Full HD+ resolution offering 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. Unfortunately, it comes only with a 60 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone packs a MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core chipset. This platform comes with two ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at up to 2 GHz plus six power-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz. The processor comes with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Moreover, the device comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. As usual, you can expand the storage with a micro SD card up to 512 GB. The RAM can also be “enhanced” through the Virtual RAM feature that ensures 3 GB of Virtual RAM.

As for connectivity, the device offers dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The device draws power from a 5,000 mAh that supports 33W fast-charging technology. The device comes with 164×75.46×8.38 mm dimensions and is quite lightweight with just 190 grams. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles as a power button, Android 11-based FuntouchOS 11.1 straight out of the box and NFC.
Pricing and Availability
The new handset comes in Deep Sea Blue and Fantastic Rainbow Color options. The handset is priced at INR 19,490 which is roughly $260. According to the company, users can purchase it through Vivo India E-store, Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, Tatacliq, Bajaj EMI Store, and across all partner retails stores. The device will go on sale starting August 9.
The device is solid in terms of specifications, but we don’t know how it will stand in India. Especially with many companies bringing 5G smartphones to the market with aggressive prices.
