In a few hour’s time, Xiaomi will officially unveil its latest flagship smartphone, Xiaomi Mi MIX 4. This will be the first regular MIX series smartphone since the release of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 back in 2018. Although the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will be the protagonist of this event, there will be other devices like the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series, and Xiaomi’s first high-end smart speaker. The Pad 5 is also rejuvenating the Mi Pad series after three years of dormancy. These devices will be released at 19:30 Chinese Time (11:30 am GMT; 13:30 CET) at Lei Jun’s personal annual speech.
Although, there have been several speculations regarding the MIX 4, there has been no clue about the price. Of course, many Mi fans are eager to know the price of this new flagship. We all know that it will not be cheap considering its configuration. Today, @DCS gives the first clue regarding the price of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4.
Gizchina News of the week
According to @DCS, Xiaomi’s product line is very clear. The digital series is the “balanced” flagship and the Ultra focuses on the camera output. However, the MIX series falls into the classification of a “business flagship”. According to him, the positioning of the MIX 4 is higher than the Xiaomi Mi 11. However, he further speculates that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and Mi 11 Ultra will have similar pricing.
According to Xiaomi Mall, the current price of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is 5499 yuan ($848), 5999 yuan ($926), and 6499 yuan ($1,003) for the 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB respectively. From the information above, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will likely have a 5499 yuan ($848) starting price. Although this is nothing official or even close to official, it remains the only speculation regarding the price of this upcoming flagship. Nevertheless, we expect Xiaomi to reveal the price of the MIX 4 in a few hours.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will use a 6.67-inch hyperboloid solution with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. This display will come with a pixel density of 386ppi, and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, this device does not come with a 2K+ display that we have on the Mi 11 series. Nevertheless, the screen is still at the flagship level. We can guess why this device will not use a 2K+ display, it has to be because of the under-display camera. This flagship smartphone also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus flagship processor. Furthermore, this device will come with a built-in 5000 mAh large battery that supports 120W fast charging. For the wireless charging capacity, it will use an 80W wireless fast charging technology.
