Honor has unveiled its new smartwatch dubbed, the Watch GS 3 which sports an awe-inspiring design and offers highly advantageous features. Regrettably, you can’t get your hands on the smartwatch just yet. The Watch GS 3 is the first smartwatch in the lineup to feature an eight-channel PPG (photoplethysmography) sensor. The PPG sensor reportedly monitors heart rate more accurately.
During the Honor Watch GS 3 launch event, the brand also announced its new tablet dubbed the Honor Tab V7 Pro. The tablet sports a 120Hz display, and ships with 256GB of built-in storage capacity. Aside from that, the Tab V7 Pro is the brand’s first device to pack a MediaTek Kompanio 1300T SoC. The Taiwanese chipmaker announced the Kompanio 1300T last month. Interestingly, Honor skipped the GS 2 variant.
Price & Availability
Details about the Watch GS 3 price are still few and far between. Although the company remained mum on the pricing front, it revealed that the smartwatch will be available in three variants. These include a Voyager version that comes in a silver case and features a blue leather wrist strap. There’s another model dubbed, the Streamer Classic, which is housed in a golden case and ships with a brown-tinted leather strap. The third variant is touted as the Racing Edition, which has a black rubber strap and a gray case.
The 6GB RAM+128GB ROM variant of the Honor Tab V7 Pro retails for CNY 2,599 (about $400). The slightly larger model that comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage will set you back CNY 2,799 (about $430). The top-end variant features 8GB of RAM and offers 256GB of internal storage. You’d need to shell out CNY 3,299 ($510) to get your hands on it. The 5G-enabled model with 8GB RAM+256GB ROM carries a price tag of CNY 3,699 ($570). This model will go up for sale in Titanium Silver, Gold, and Dawn Blue color options on August 19 in China.

The Watch GS 3 has retained the circular design of its predecessor, the Watch GS Pro. The most notable difference between the two models is an eight-channel PPG sensor. The PPG sensor uses a frequency tracking algorithm to monitor heart rate during strenuous exercise. The Watch GS 3 uses both software and hardware to provide more accurate heart rate tracking.

The display is encompassed by 6.9mm bezels to ensure an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 86 percent. Under the hood, it packs a 6nm octa-core MediaTek Kompanio 1300T SoC along with a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, and 8GB of RAM.
The tablet features a 13MP main camera and a 2MP macro shooter with an LED flash at the back. Upfront, the device houses a selfie camera. This quad-camera setup comes with DTS:X Ultra support.
