OnePlus nowadays has a myriad of smartphones to take care of. Apart from the latest and old flagship smartphone series, the company also needs to keep its OnePlus Nord series smartphones updated. This has been leading to delays in certain updates, and according to reports, is one of the reasons behind the merging with Oppo. Under Oppo wings, the software support given by the company will improve. Of course, that is something that we’ll have to wait and see, especially after the Android 12 and OxygenOS 12 update. While the next big update does not come, the company keeps updating some of its supported devices with OxygenOS 11 incremental updates. Today, it’s time for the OnePlus Nord N10 to get a new fresh update.
Yesterday, OnePlus rolled out new OxygenOS updates for the OnePlus Nord and Nord CE. Apart from the usual bug fixes and underhood improvements, the update also brought August 2021 security patches. Now, the OnePlus Nord N10 is getting the very same treatment with the latest Android security patch. It’s a pity that in a couple of days it will already be outdated as September patches will start to be rolled out. However, that’s how this industry works.
Gizchina News of the week
OnePlus has announced via its OnePlus Community Forums that the OxygenOS 11.0.1 update is rolling out for the OnePlus Nord N10 in the EU region. The update is rolling out incrementally and will reach the NA region in the coming days. It’s a small update with just 179 MB size and has the following changes:
OnePlus Nord N10 OxygenOS 11.0.1 update changelog
- System
- Improved system performance
- Updated Android security patch to 2021.08
- Network
- Improved internet connection and optimize Wi-Fi signal
Interestingly, the new OxygenOS 11.0.1 update arrives as the second stable Android 11-based release for the mid-range smartphone. The first stable Android 11 update rolled out in late July, several months after the N10 release and also, after the Android 11 release. It brought refreshed design, new Ambient Display features (even though the device has an LCD panel), and an improved Dark Mode. OnePlus will likely keep ironing out the Android 11-based build in the OnePlus Nord N10. For now, there is no official word whether the device will get Android 12 or not. That will not be the case with the OnePlus Nord N100, the low-end smartphone that was released alongside the N10.
Getting back to the point, the update is rolling via the OTA channel in the EU region. Users should be prompted with a notification in the coming days. As you may expect, the update is rolling out in a gradual manner, therefore, it can take a few days to reach all smartphones.
