OnePlus is rolling out a new firmware update for the OnePlus Nord N100 with an August 2021 security patch. Interestingly, the entry-level smartphone is the latest to receive this update. A couple of days ago, it has rolled out for the OnePlus Nord, which was followed by the OnePlus Nord CE and OnePlus Nord N10. Now, the OnePlus Nord N100 is joining the list of devices with the latest security fixes provided by Google.
In addition to the new security patch, the latest OxygenOS 11.0.1 update for the OnePlus Nord N100 also introduces a set of improvements. For instance, there are stability improvements, and bug fixes for certain issues. It’s a small release that does not include any of the new features or improvements that rolled out to older Nord devices. The OnePlus Nord N100 probably is the device will less feature than any other OnePlus smartphone. The reason is that it’s also less capable with an unimpressive Snapdragon 460 SoC.

Just like on other devices, the new OxygenOS 11.0.1 release for the OnePlus Nord N100 is rolling out in an incremental form. In other words, it will only reach a small number of users at this first moment. If no critical bug appears in the coming days, OnePlus will likely proceed with a larger rollout that will cover more users and devices.
The OnePlus Nord N100 was released late last year alongside the OnePlus Nord N10. The device features a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate. It also has a top-left aligned punch-hole cutout housing an 8 MP selfie snapper. Moving around to the back, there is a triple-camera setup sitting inside of a square-sh module. This camera cutout comprises a 13 MP camera, a 2 MP macro unit, and a 2 MP depth-sensing module.
Under the hood, the Nord N100 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of Internal Expandable Storage. The device draws powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with 18 W fast-charging support. The device rolled out with Android 10 and Oxygen OS 10. Recently it receives its first and major upgrade in the form of Android 11-based OxygenOS 11. As per reports, this will be the only update coming for the handset. OnePlus does not intend to bring two major upgrades for devices in its low-end category.
