Samsung has a new tactic to combat information leaks

Samsung

Like most other big brands, Samsung regularly suffers from premature leaks of information about its products that appear on the web long before the official premieres. This time the company is ready to resort to new measures to combat leaks and their sources.

The last time the company was hit hard by leaks was very recent. Shortly before the August release of the flagships Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Buds 2 headphones, almost everything was known about them. Although the company sends out threatening letters and even claims to the media in connection with the images published on the Internet, this only fuels the enthusiasm of insiders.

Samsung has a new tactic to combat information leaks

Now Samsung is going to take new measures. Ironically, the texts of new agreements with partners of the company, which are part of the chains of its suppliers, have leaked into the Network. The contracts oblige them to prohibit employees who previously worked at competing factories from working with processes that provide access to Samsung confidential information.

In addition, the partner company must immediately notify Samsung if an employee is fired. If the company violates at least one of the conditions, it will face a fine of $ 85,000.

The new rules do not apply to all partners of the company. There are two versions of the contract – standard, no limitation, and extended, for companies deeply involved in Samsung’s manufacturing processes related to semiconductors and other critical components. We are talking about some Japanese businesses and South Korean subsidiaries of some world brands.

It is possible that the new measures are connected not only with leaks, but with the recent fight between Samsung and Mujin Electronics, which previously collaborated with the South Korean giant, but was later caught trying to “leak” technical secrets to rival companies from China. Samsung ended the partnership immediately.

Samsung will delay shipments of Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G

On August 11, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G foldable smartphones. The plan was that the actual sales of the devices will begin on August 27; but now there are reports of delays.

Customers in some European countries, particularly Germany, who pre-ordered the devices in question; have begun receiving delayed shipments from Samsung, according to online sources. Shipments of smartphones may delay until mid-September.

The current situation is due to strong demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G and Z Flip 3 5G; which exceeded the expectations of the South Korean giant. In addition, the observed shortage of electronic components can have a negative impact on the volume of new products.

As of the end of last week, the total number of orders for the devices reached 450 thousand. By the end of the period for accepting applications; we expect that up to 800 thousand orders can be placed.
