In India, Xiaomi’s smartphones carry names different from the original models. This is also true for the Redmi handsets. So when talking about the Redmi 10 Prime, we should keep in mind that this is going to be the renamed version of one of the existing models. In this regard, today, Xiaomi’s Manu Kumar Jain said through Twitter that our protagonist will come with the same MediaTek Helio G88 chipset as the Redmi 10. Before we jump to the full specs list in order to understand whether this is the same Redmi 10 or another existing model, we should recall his other words saying the new phone has a “significant upgrade” over last year’s Redmi 9 Prime and 9 Power.
Last year, when the company launched the Redmi 9 Prime in India, a quick look at its features showed that we were dealing with the renamed Redmi 9. The only notable difference was the omission of NFC. However, we can’t say the same for the Redmi 9 Power. It was significantly different from the vanilla Redmi 9, coming with a Snapdragon 662 instead of the Helio G80 chip. Also, it was sporting a 48MP main camera (instead of a 13 MP module) and a 6,000mAh battery (instead of a 5,000mAh battery).
