Oppo may be busy with the release of its Reno6 series across the world and with the imminent unveiling of ColorOS 12. However, the company still has plans for the 4G budget segment and seems to be preparing two new contenders for a release. The new devices are namely Oppo A55 4G and Oppo A16K 4G and seem to be moving to launch very soon.
Both the OPPO A55 4G and Oppo A16K 4G have cleared the Indian Bureau of Standards (BIS) and The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) certifications. These certifications aren’t very revealing as they serve only to confirm the model number of these devices ahead of launch. However, the camera specifications for these devices are leaked as well courtesy of the Camera FV-5 databases. So we have more information to share than just the device’s model numbers. Worth noting that the Oppo A55 4G comes as a new variant for the Oppo A55 series that launched with a 5G smartphone earlier this year in China. The Oppo A16K, on the other hand, is an entirely new handset that Oppo is yet to unveil.
The Oppo A55 4G and Oppo A16K are entry-level smartphones
Looking at the BIS certification details, the Oppo A55 4G and the Oppo A16K 4G possess model numbers as the CPF2325 and CPH2349. Similarly, the NBTC certification shows the same model number as the one revealed by the BIS certification. It also discloses that these two handsets will come with LTE connectivity support. Apart from the BIS and NBTC certifications, the Oppo A55 4G also has received the EEC certification.
As far as the camera details are concerned, the Oppo A55 figures as a mid-range smartphone. It comes with a primary 13 MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture and EIS support. On the front side, the device comes with a 4 MP camera. The Oppo A16K is even worse with a 2.1 front-facing camera. Unfortunately, other details such as the display size, hardware details, and other info are unknown at the moment. However, looking at these camera specs we can easily conclude that both devices belong to the entry-level segment.
To recall, the Oppo A55 5G released earlier this year is a super-budget device that offers 5G connectivity. It flaunts a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with HD+ 1,600 x 720 pixels resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device boasts the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. The smartphone also boasts 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. In terms of optics, it has a 13 MP camera and two 2 MP units for macro and depth. The front-facing camera is an 8 MP unit. The Oppo A55 5G draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery and runs Android 11 with ColorOS 11 straight out of the box.
