Realme Confirms Plan to Launch Smartphone With MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC in India

Realme India is preparing to launch its first 5G handset with the MediaTek Dimensity 810 Soc in the country, with both MediaTek and Realme announcing this today in a joint statement.

The smartphone will offer with it an all-around experience, with Realme stating that users will get long-lasting battery life, better performance, more frame rate while games and more.

Realme and MediaTek failed to announce the name of this device, but, it might be the Realme 8s, as per leaks and rumours, since many have reported that it will likely use the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC.

Realme is well known for its partnership with MediaTek and, today’s announcement adds more proof to this, with the company saying that it intends to add to its 5G portfolio in India by launching a device with the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC.

During the launch, this new chip and its counterpart, the MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC became the talk of the town for offering 5G and high-refresh-rate support.

Madhav Sheth, the Vice President of Realme and CEO of Realme India and Europe in a joint statement with Realme said that “We are excited to announce that Realme is partnering with MediaTek to bring in the world’s first Dimensity 810 5G chipset enabled smartphone.

“This pushes the boundaries of innovation and re-affirms our commitment to make consumers future-ready. We are eager to provide our fans with incredible features and performance with cutting-edge 5G-enabled smartphones.”

In case you did not know, this new chip offers ARM Cortex-A55 and A-76 CPUs with a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz and a Mali-G57 GPU for gaming.

The chip, based on the 6nm process supports UFS 2.2 storage and LPDDR4x RAM along with Wi-Fi 5, NavIC, 5G, GPS and Bluetooth 5.1.

Anku Jain, the Managing Director of MediaTek India said that “With this latest collaboration with our long-term OEM Realme, we are keen on bringing MediaTek Dimensity 810 powered smartphones to Indian customers who are looking for an incredible all-around smartphone experience.

“Be it for incredible processor speeds, snappier app response, longer battery life, more FPS in games or incredible camera and videography features”

The Realme 8s will most likely be the device of choice to sport this new SoC, with a 6.5-inch 90Hz refresh rate display and a triple-camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor as per rumours that have surfaced in recent times.
