Helio G96 technical specifications
The fact is that the Realme 8i will be the first smartphone to sport the Helio G96 SoC. For those unaware, MediaTek launched the Helio G96 and the Helio G88 processors in July. As their name suggests they come as sequels for the Helio G95 and Helio G85 SoCs. The “mid-range premium” SoC comes with two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.05 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores. The chipset is aided by a Mali-G57 MC2 which is a downgrade when compared to the Helio G95 Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. Anyway, even with this GPU the processor is capable of handling 1080p displays with a 120 Hz refresh rate and can also support 108 MP cameras. It’s capped at LTE but offers UFS 2.2 storage support and Bluetooth 5.2 support.
Realme 8i alleged specifications
A couple of days ago, a set of leaked renders emerged revealing the Realme 8i design. The device is very close to the Realme 8i in terms of design. It will pack a 6.59-inch Full HD+ display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It has a left-aligned punch-hole as usual. Further, the handset will come with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. The handset will also have a triple-camera setup on the back. The rear camera module is a 50 MP main camera, and there are two 2 MP units for macro and depth. It is likely coming with a 5,000 mAh battery with at least 33W fast charging.
MediaTek had to give G96 a 3/4
core G57 graphics.
