Realme is gearing up to introduce a bunch of new products this year. The list of upcoming devices includes the new affordable tablet Realme Pad and two new smartphones for the Realme 8 series. The original Realme 8 devices were released earlier this year and got new variants over the course of the months. Now, the Chinese firm is bringing two new additions in the form of Realme 8i and Realme 8s 5G. The latter had its design revealed by the company’s CEO for India and Europe, Madhav Sheth.

The Relame 8s 5G is one of the new products Realme has planned for release this month. The new handset will launch as the first smartphone packing MediaTek’s Dimensity 810 processor. The new chipset was introduced a couple of weeks ago as an incremental upgrade over the original 800 and is better than the Dimensity 700 series chips. Ahead of the new smartphone’s launch, the company’s CEO has revealed a photo of the new handset.

Realme 8s 5G has a side-mounted fingerprint, triple-camera setup

The Realme 8s 5G is shown in blue in the photo and we can only the rear side of the handset. However, it is enough to confirm a few of the device’s characteristics. For start, the new handset packs a triple-camera setup, although the camera setup makes it look like a Quad-Camera setup. The design language is reminiscent of the Realme 8 5G.

The back also shows the power button cutout which basically confirms it will double as a fingerprint scanner. This probably means that Realme will be using a common LCD with this new handset. However, it can come with a high-refresh-rate display. The volume buttons are placed on the left side of the new mid-range device. The photo shows the blue variant with a light streak that runs from the top to the bottom of the new handset. However, we can expect there will be other colors at launch.

Realme 8s 5G alleged specifications

In addition to the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, it has been reported that the Realme 8s 5G will pack a 6.5-inch screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate. We expect a Full HD+ resolution and a punch-hole cutout in the left side for the camera. The new MediaTek 5G SoC will come alongside 6 GB of RAM or 8 GB of RAM depending on the variant. Storage-wise, there will be options with 128 GB or 256 GB of Internal Storage. The device will likely support micro SD cards.
