Back in the last year, Apple had a troublesome year in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. It forced the company to postpone its iPhone 12 series release to October, out from its usual September window. Now, we’re in 2021 and the “things” are slowly returning to normal. Therefore, Apple is returning to its usual September iPhone release with the new hot iPhone 13 series. A couple of weeks ago, the reputed tipster Jon Prosser has confirmed the launch of the new iPhones for September 14. Now, this launch date has been officially confirmed by the Cupertino-based firm.
Apple has officially confirmed its highly-anticipated iPhone 13 and Apple Watch Series 7 for September 14. As expected, the event will be completely virtual and will be streamed from Apple Park. The event will carry the tagline “California Streaming”.
How to Watch it
Apple’s September 14 keynote will be held at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. This is the second year in a row that Apple has held its annual event completely virtual. The reasons behind this change are obviously associated with the ongoing pandemic.
The keynote will be live-streamed across Apple’s Website, on the company’s YouTube channel, and via the Apple TV application on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. More details are yet to be revealed by the company, and we expect it to happen on the event day itself.
What are the big stars of the event?
iPhone 13 series
During the upcoming event, Apple will reveal the new iPhone 13 series which probably will carry the highlights. Just like last year, the company will bring four models. Namely, we have the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The new smartphones will bring significant changes such as a smaller notch and Apple A15 Bionic.
Gizchina News of the week
The design should remain close to the language introduced with the iPhone 12 series release. The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max will also enter the world of high-refresh-rate with 120 Hz displays. There will be improvements in the camera department, and all models will rock 25W fast charging. The devices will also mark the debut of iOS 15.
Apple Watch Series 7
In addition to the newer iPhones, Apple will also disclose its new Apple Watch Series 7. The new smartwatch generation will boast an all-new design with a larger display and flat edges. It should be a notable update over previous generations. However, we don’t expect the pre-orders to start immediately after the launch. After all, rumors suggest that Apple is facing serious production issues and that should bring constraints to supply.
AirPods 3
Apple is also planning new AirPods, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see them at the September 14 event. The AirPods 3 will pack a similar design to AirPods Pro, however, they will come with replaceable ear tips.
New iPad models
Other possible hardware announcements include a new iPad mini and a new entry-level iPad. However, we’re not expecting new MacBooks for this event. The computers should emerge on a separate event in October or November.
Last but not least, the company may disclose the official release date for its new round of software updates during the event. This goes for iOS 15, watchOS 8, and tvOS 15. The newer macOS Monterey, should not appear before this fall.
Stay tuned for more details about the iPhone 13 and other Apple products coming next week.
