Over the past few days, there have been multiple reports regarding the upcoming Redmi K50 series. According to speculations, this series will also use the flagship Snapdragon 898 just like the Xiaomi Mi 12 series. This afternoon, popular Weibo leakster, @DCS released some hints on the Redmi K50. According to him, this device will support IP68 waterproof and dustproof, 100W fast charging, and dual symmetrical speakers. Recall that just yesterday, there was a report that this series will use up to 120W fast charging.
It is important to note that the Redmi K50 series will still have three models with different configurations. While one of the models will use a Snapdragon 888 SoC, the other two models will come with the latest Snapdragon 898 SoC.
However, the entire Redmi K50 series may not support IP68 waterproof and dustproof, 100-watt fast charging, and dual symmetrical speakers. It should be an exclusive configuration for Redmi K50 Pro+.
However, those who will go for the lower models will have nothing to regret. The lowest model will still get up to 67W fast charging. This remains a great improvement relative to the previous generation.
Gizchina News of the week
In the camera department, the Redmi K50 will come with a 108MP main camera. We expect only the Pro+ model to use this camera. The other models will come with a 48MP main shooter. The speculations so far claim that Xiaomi will also increase the battery capacity of these models.
Xiaomi will move to 150W fast charging
In addition, there are speculations that after the 120W super-fast charging, Xiaomi will further explore more powerful fast charging. The charging power (wired) is expected to hit the 150W mark. As of now, we do not have information on the first smartphone to use this charging capacity. Nevertheless, the upcoming flagship is the Xiaomi Mi 12 series. Thus, one of the models may use this technology.
Recall that back in May, Xiaomi modified a version of the Xiaomi Mi 11 series (Mi 11 Pro) and it broke two world records for fast charging in one fell swoop. Among them, the wired charging power reached 200W, and it only takes 8 minutes to charge 100%. This brings the wired charging timing into the 10-minute era for the first time. At the same time, it also achieves 120W ultra-fast wireless flash charging, which can charge 100% in 15 minutes. This is currently the highest wireless charging capacity in the industry but Xiaomi can not commercialize it for obvious reasons.
